AX Paint Repair

After finishing the outer paint work. Take a look inside the engine room, the weak point of AX is that the battery ventilation pipe is dropping on the frame and it rusted. We need to remove the rust, if you are lucky as I am, you will find no rust hole. Then coated with anti rust material such as "Jotun".

Metal frame under the battery is rusted. If we do nothing it will cause the rust hole in the near future.

Then, coated with "Jotun"

Comparing the right piece of old colour but newly coated "Glasurit" with the old color. The new one is lighter as good quality clear coat reflects more light. So, I have to respray the whole parts, except back door and the roof.

Now, the car has been done for the paint.

By the way, the AX is not like the bigger sedan like Xantia and XM, the paint is so thin and poor look on clear coat. This is one of the reason why we see so many AX need new paint including the roof. In normal circumstance, if no accident or changing the colour of the car, the rood need no respraying.

For the good part of it, we can see the using condition of used car easily. Parking outside the garage or high milege car need new spray paint for the roof. Even high milege car with good maintainance or taking good car still can easily notice at the roof.

WATCH OUT!!! REMEMBER!!! and DON'T FORGET!!!!
NEVER...EVER.... remove the door guard from your door if there is no accident. If you remove them, you need the buy the new one. No way can fixed them back in good condition.
